The Rib’e Lugá program offers the possibility to apply for a temporary residence permit for the purpose of employment. With this permit, you may legally reside in Curaçao and work for an employer.

Only applications submitted in the prescribed manner, with payment of the required fees and charges, via the digital portal, will be processed in accordance with the “Riba e Luga” policy.

Requirements
You may apply for a work permit if you meet the following conditions:

• You arrived in Curaçao before November 13, 2025;
• You do not pose a threat to public order or safety;

• You have an employer, thereby demonstrating that you have sufficient means of support.

To substantiate the aforementioned conditions and in accordance with your purpose of stay, employment, you must submit certain documents as required by the Rib’e Luga policy. [Click here] for the required documents. 

Duration of the permit:
If you select “Employment” as your purpose, you have the option to choose a temporary residence permit valid for 1 to 3 years.

Documents required to submit your online application for a temporary residence permit
To submit your application for a temporary residence permit, you will need the following documents:

• TO application form (this is filled out digitally in the portal);
• Proof of entry before November 13, 2025;
• Proof of payment of fees and charges;
• Copy of your passport (valid at the time of issuance);
• Certificate of Good Conduct (VOG) for individuals aged 18 and older (issued within the last 3 months);
• Personal CRIB number
• Birth certificate (not older than 1 year, with an apostille);
• Employer’s statement together with a valid copy of the employer’s ID, bearing an XCG adhesive stamp. 10;
• Guarantee statement bearing an XCG adhesive stamp. 10;
• Copy of Chamber of Commerce extract not older than 6 months from the employer/guarantor;
• Employer’s CRIB number;

When submitting your application, follow these steps:

1. Submit an online application via the TO digital portal, including uploading all required documents.
2. Review of the submitted application for a residence permit by TO;
3. Receipt of a decision granting or denying the application. If the application is granted:
4. Payment of the security deposit;
5. Taking out local health insurance for the duration of the decision (at least 1 year);

7. Submission of the required documents upon issuance;
8. Register with Curaçao Population Registry, Kranshi. You must make an appointment for this. 
9. The employer must go to SOAW to apply for a work permit.
